Susan Chaityn Lebovits

Susan Chaityn Lebovits is a Boston-based writer whose assignments have involved everything from 32-gauge acupuncture needles to a Krieghoff K-80 shotgun. She’s spent weekends fox hunting in the fields for The Boston Globe, and on Broadway, backstage with the cast of Billy Joel and Twlya Tharp’s “Movin’ Out” for Self Magazine.

Stories covered have included environmental news, architecture, restaurant reviews, extreme sports such as ice diving and wing suiting, and personal struggles including one main’s excape from the civil war in Sierra Leone Africa, and another’s courage to face his battle and death from cancer.

Susan’s work has appeared internationally and has been translated into French, Russian, and Chinese. A graduate of Syracuse University, Susan worked as an art director and copywriter in New York City for McCann-Erickson Worldwide, Backer Spielvogel Bates, and Ogilvy & Mather Direct in both Manhattan and Frankfurt, Germany where she lived for three years.

Also a certified personal trainer, she wrote FITfactor, a monthly column in FIT magazine. Her work has appeared in a number of national magazines including Shape, Readers Digest, and Ladies Home Journal.

Susan spent two years at Boston University where she co-founded the Office of Sustainability. Currently she is the Senior Communications Specialist for Brandeis University, and a blogger for Ecosalon.com
